This year our basketball team is looking good. We are preseason top five. We have three new transfer students, and are hoping to have the same awesome record as last year. GO EAGLES ! |
Open House was a huge success! We had multiple media presetnations along with lots of food. The parents seemed impressed and everything was well organized |
The football team had a very down year last year. Now we are very much improved. We have a record of 4-1. Our team is just like a family and I love being around all of my teammates |
Through my years at PVI I have leared many different traits and life lessons to prepare me for the outside world. I will miss PVI and cherish the rest of my senior year. Also I feel I have made the right choice by going to PVI, because I feel more prepared for college thanks to my guidance counselor and teachers. |
It's as if we had all the time in the world to plan this, looking back, but now there isn't any time left. The application process is one of the longest and stressful things I've ever had to do. Deciding whether your essay is good enough...impossible. And don't even get me started with the financial aid. It takes at least two weeks to do. My advice to any underclassman is start early, because before you know it you'll be pulling your hair out and popping pimples because your so stressed out. |
I really hope that everyone starts to come out to support the football team and other PVI sports and activities. Our teams are on fire!! Tonights game is a black out and I'm so excited to watch our team win! Also I can't wait for the pep rallys and being a senior and winning all the activites. I hope we can inncorporate more spirit in the school |
Our Paul VI Student Council represents the student body and school as a whole. Our goal as a Student Council is to voice and embody our fellow classmates opinions, facilitate the many activities held during the school year, and uphold the principles of our school. Not only do we run the Pep Rallies and dances, but we assist around the school everyday in multiple ways. Our main priority is supporting the student body and making sure our school is the best it can be. I enjoy being part of such a group! I take pride in my office to represent the student body, and more importantly the Senior Class of ‘13. |
One word to describe the girls soccer team is heart. We are up against tough competition so far this year and the season just started. Everyone on the team always works their hardest and they never give up. The girls soccer team has a special bond. We are all really good friends which makes the chemistry on the field even better. We have a fast offensive line, a strong midfield, and an aggressive back. Its not the skill that makes us a great team it’s the chemistry and the heart that each one of us on the team has. We are there for each other and are always there to encourage each other. I would not change my team for the world and I hope this year we can win states. |
During the summer, I plan on both engaging in an active social and academic life. I have enrolled before in academic summer camps (summer 2011), and hope to continue such activities. Socially, my ideal is to spend as much time as possible with friends and family before entering my Junior year in high school. This is so because I know that during Junior year, in reflection of the rigorous courses in which I am partaking, I will not have nearly enough time to actively participate in social activities. In all, I hope my summer 2012 develops within an academically-enriching and socially-exciting atmosphere. |

I am so excited to finish up my sophomore year hear at PVI! I cannot wait until it becomes summer. I am ready to hang out with my friends and not think of school work. I'm going to go down the shore with my friends and just have a great time. I'm going to go in the ocean and relax and tan on the beach. Before I know it, I'll be back at school so I'm going to spend all the time I can with my friends. ![]() ![]() |
There are many type of sports. Some involve physical play and strength. Others involve more thinking and must be played with a psychological aspect. Many sports involve using both the physical aspects and psychological aspects to the best of an athletes abilities in order to succeed. Basketball is the best example where one must be able to make the physical play and score but also use their head to pass it to the right players and make the right decisions at the right time. |
This years lacrosse season is going pretty well. Both varsity and JV are doing better than they did last year and the team is showing real improvement. Given that the program is fairly young, it is pretty impressive to see the growth in interest and skill on the team. With over 50 people coming out for the team this year, the coaches had a lot of talent to work with. From the beginning of the season in March to the back end of the game schedule now in May, the team has grown. Not just in lacrosse skills but together as well. Everyone is learning how to work together as a unit and it has really shown on the field. Only good things seem to be on the horizon for the foreseeable future. |
Easter Break was so fun! I did a lot of activities and spent time with friends. We enjoyed seeing each other outside of school and having time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Along with that, i also had time to visit church and do charity work. I had time to pray with God and reflect on everything. I think everyone should take time out of each day to pray. |
This year's Varsity softball team is off to a great start, and they’ve only played scrimmages! The girls
current record is 3-1, winning their most recent game over Holy Cross with a score of 19-1. With pitchers Victoria Farrell and Alexa Toner, the girls are finding themselves having quick games with low hit counts. Power hitters Brielle Pietrafesa and Stephanie Heresniak continue to drive in runs each game. Outfielders Jess Castiglia, Gabrielle Marino, and Dylan Jarvis are keeping the opposing teams runs down by having complete control over the outfield. Senior captain Becky Gilbert continues to control the infield with the help of freshman 3rd baseman Megan Wall and freshman Mackenzie Karcher at second base. There are high hopes for this young Varsity team and much anticipation of a winning record! |
This year has been the most exciting years I have ever had at Paul Vi, ever. I have met so many new friends this year who have became my best friends. All of us are looking forward to spending prom and senior trip together. I want these things to come but at the same time, I don't want senior year to end. It is already February... I can't believe it. It's such a bittersweet feeling. Hopefully everything goes as planned for the rest of the year. |
Football season ended on thanksgiving. It was a cold morning at Camden catholic. We got there really early to get ready and stretch. I was tired and didn't feel like being there at first. But then people started showing up, and I started to get my head in the game. When the stadium was full, I went crazy. All the people there, wearing green and blue. The first kickoff I kicked, it was like an explosion. The game began. We played a hard game, I was 3 for 3 kicking field goals, but Camden catholic came out on top. The best part was going home to my family and having thanksgiving dinner. Now the season is over, and wrestling is starting. I hope I make it to states so I can get that same adrenaline rush from thanksgiving. |
It's November, and already, this school year has been a very hard obstacle to overcome. People say Junior Year is the hardest year of high school, and adjusting from sophomore year has defiantly been a challenge. Being an average student, I strive to try my hardest by doing my work and passing test, but this year has been extremely difficult to focus and concentrate. Junior year has been one big ball of stress. 5 test a day, numerous essays and research papers; I can hardly pinpoint what I’m going to do first. Our teachers teach on College level, and you have to concentrate more as an adult or you’ll ultimately fall behind. I bet everyone knows the feeling, the stressful headaches pounding your brain as you try to do homework or essays. Or, trying to concentrate on the black board in class but you have so much on your mind, that everything seems like a blur. I have come to the conclusion that none of this gets better, until you try.
One night sitting in my bed trying to do a 9 page paper, I got an epiphany. "If I pace myself, and try not to multitask so much, I will get everything done", I thought to myself. Indeed I did, I finished everything I needed to do that night and then some. That morning I felt fresh, renewed and ready to go to school. I think if everyone just takes a second to slow things down, everything would be a lot easier. Organize what you have to do and what nights you’re going to finish something, so you’re not trying to do everything in one night. Finish things that are due ahead of others, get at least 8 hours of sleep and eat a good healthy breakfast. Also, block everything out that isn’t about what you’re learning in class, so you can listen and learn to what the teachers saying. Everything doesn’t have to be as stressful as it is, as long as you take your time, organize, and prepare yourself; you will not only succeed in Junior Year, but throughout senior year and college. |
